The website is open to the general public. Most of the services offered are accessible for free. To access the knowledge centre a yearly fee is due.

Anyone paying the membership fee is entitled to the following benefits:

MEMBERSHIP
Anyone can become a member of Conservation Web vzw if he abides by the aims of the organization and pays the membership fee.
The fee is due for every calendar year, even if subscription occurs during the current year.
You can apply for membership using the application form. Membership starts when payment of the fee has been received.
Institutions or organizations wanting an invoice can mention this on the application form.

The newsletter will cover, amongst others, following subjects:

We invite everyone to send interesting messages or information concerning conservation of art and cultural heritage or related fields to us by e-mail. The more relevant information we receive, the more interesting our newsletter. Since our newsletter is international your information is spread worldwide. CALENDAR OF EVENTS
Here you will find all kinds of events organized concerning preservation and conservation of art and cultural heritage. The events will cover the international scene.
Examples are congresses, seminars, trade fairs, courses and workshops.
If you are organizing an event related to deterioration, preservation or conservation of art and cultural heritage, you are welcome to send the relevant information to info@conservation.eu. We will post your information on this site. Please send the information at least 6 weeks prior to the event.
BUSINESS GUIDE
The Business guide is a database of companies selling materials or providing services, directly or indirectly related to preservation and conservation of art and cultural materials.
Companies that offer our members an extra benefit receive a "member benefit icon" alongside their name.
The business guide is free accessible to everyone.

REGISTER
The register is a database of persons delivering professional services in the field of preservation, conservation and restoration of art and cultural heritage. By subscribing to the register professionals can promote their services worldwide.
Conservation Web vzw is no professional body. Registering as a professional is not a kind of accreditation.
To register the following criteria have to be observed:
- It is imperative and compulsory to fill in the correct information on the application form concerning professional education, experience and references.
- It is necessary to accept, underwrite and apply the professional ethical code as mentioned on this site.
- A yearly fee has to be paid.
The register contains all information relevant to the professional work of to the person concerned.
Conservation Web vzw does not judge the knowledge nor the professional abilities of the registered persons, nor the quality of the services delivered. All transactions between these persons and other parties are the sole responsibility of the parties involved. Conservation Web vzw can, under no circumstances, be held liable for eventual damage of any kind, whatsoever, resulting from these transactions.

JOB VACANCIES
The vacancies database is a database where institutions or organizations can post job vacancies for paid or voluntary jobs, related to preservation and conservation of art and cultural heritage. This service is free of costs for members. Non-members pay a small fee.
Institutions wanting to post job vacancies not immediately related to preservation and conservation of art and cultural heritage can do so when paying the appropriate fee. Please contact us at info@conservationweb.eu
Job vacancies are shown on the website for 4 weeks. Posting can be extended two times when requested.
MEMBER BENEFITS
Conservation Web vzw tries to convince companies and organizers of events to give membership benefits to our members. Companies offering a benefit are crowned with a "member benefit icon"
Examples of member benefits are:

- Rebates for events, seminars, trade fairs
- Rebates on conservation literature, subscription to magazines

KNOWLEDGE CENTRE
The knowledge centre is the heart of the website. Here you can find all kinds of information related to deterioration, preservation, conservation and restoration of art and cultural materials.

- Bibliography
- Terminology

COOPERATION WITH THIRD PARTIES
Our organization is working internationally and aims to forge synergies between all kinds of parties working in the field of preservation and conservation of art and cultural heritage.
Our website is a crucial part of our organization. It is an organic site growing constantly whereby interested parties can not only research and withdraw information, but can also deliver information to be put on site.
That is why we ask members and visitors alike to send us any relevant information to be put in the calendar of events or the newsletter. You can do this at info@conservationweb.eu.
The knowledge centre will grow gradually and will be updated regularly with new information. Members or visitors willing to add to the terminology or bibliography database can do so by using the form or send us a message at info@conservationweb.eu.
We are always looking for authors who want to give a second life to their earlier publications, thesises or reports concerning materials, deterioration, preservation, conservation or restoration of art and cultural materials. We want to publish these articles in our publication database. Anyone who is interested can contact us at info@conservationweb.eu
Articles can be sent in different languages, preferably in English. The articles will be published integrally on the site with respect for copyright rules.
We are also looking for authors willing to write new articles for our site about deterioration, preservation, conservation and restoration of art and cultural heritage. Fellow experts will judge new articles against quality criteria.
Articles will be accepted in following languages: English, Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Italian. Articles in other languages can be submitted if accompanied by an English translation.

The manual will also be extended gradually. For the moment this is limited to the sections "archives, libraries and documentation centres" and "museum collections". For this last section we are still looking for other experts in different fields wanting to cooperate.
The knowledge centre will be expanded systematically over time. Members are encouraged to suggest new additions. Constructive feedback is always welcome.

That is why we appeal to the financial sympathy of persons, institutions, companies or authorities that believe in our aims and the fact that we have a positive effect on the conservation of art and cultural heritage.
If you can empathize with our aims, you can support our actions and help us reach our objectives by sponsoring us.
We are grateful for any financial help, irrespective of the sum involved. Sponsors donating 250 euro or more receive in exchange an original small etching and aquatint, numbered and signed by the artist. This etching has been made specially for Conservation Web vzw in a limited edition.
